A statement from the Presidency of the Republic received the Agency (news) copy of it: The President Talabani welcomed Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr, a warm welcome on the occasion of his historic visit to Kurdistan and hoped to contribute to this visit, which came at the invitation of President Barzani and his meetings with political leaders in the direction of finding a way out of the current crisis facing the the country and progress in the political process forward.
The statement added: As President Talabani hoped that this visit will be a good occasion to see the achievements and developments in all aspects of life in this vital part of Iraq.
In another aspect of the meeting exchanged views on all issues pertaining to the issue of Iraq and ways to overcome obstacles and solve outstanding problems between the political blocs in the Iraqi constitution and the framework of previous agreements, especially the Convention on the Arbil.
The statement noted: that the conferees stressed the need to develop a comprehensive national program to overcome the higher interests of the Iraqi people of all partisan and sectarian considerations and be subject to agreement from everyone in order to deliver Iraq to safety.
