Ministry of Planning: rising inflation index for the month of August rate (2.8%) and the annual rate (7%) and base rate (0.2%)

Baghdad (news) .. revealed by the Ministry of Planning for rising inflation index for the month of August (2.8%) compared with the previous month of July.
The ministry attributed the rise to higher food prices and non-alcoholic beverages, especially prices of vegetables and fruits, which rose up to about (8%), referring to the annual inflation compared with August of 2011 he witnessed the other higher rate (7%).

According to a press statement issued by the Information Office of the Ministry of Planning: that inflation index foundation which is intended percentage change in the index of consumer prices calculated after excluding petroleum products (oil, gas) within the Department of Housing and sets fruits and vegetables sub within the Department of Food and non-alcoholic beverages.

And saw a slight increase during the month of August amounted to (0.2%), while the annual rose rate (5%) compared with August 2011, explaining that the Central Bureau of Statistics of the Ministry of Planning completed the inflation report for the month of August 2012, which prepared on the basis of field data collection "on the prices of goods and services components of the consumer basket of selected sample of outlets in all governorates of Iraq.
The report showed, in indicators indices of consumer prices at the level of Iraq, rising at a rate of 2.8% for Alshahralsabak at a rate of 7.0% compared with August 2011.
In the section of food and non-alcoholic beverages: - The prices of this section increased during the month of August 2012 by 7.9% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the Kurdistan region by 6.6% in the central region by 8.6% in the South by 8.2%. The main reason for high prices of this section at the level of Iraq, mainly due to higher prices of vegetables and fruits. The prices of this section increased at a rate of 9.8% compared to prices in August 2011.

The report said: that the Department of Alcoholic beverages and tobacco prices were recorded in Iraq has increased during the current month rate of 0.8% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the central region by 1.5%, while prices stabilized in each of the regions of Kurdistan and the south. The prices of this section increased by 3.7% compared to prices in the month of August 2011.

The Department of Clothing and footwear prices were recorded in Iraq has increased during the current month rate of 2.0% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in each of the Kurdistan region by 1.2% and in the central region by 1.4% in the South by 2.9%. The prices of this section increased by 6.6% compared to prices in the month of August 2011.

The report noted that the Department of Housing has seen prices of this section increased during the current month by 0.5% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the Kurdistan region by 0.4% in the central region by 0.9% and in the South by 0.3%. The prices of this section increased rate of 10.0% compared to prices in the month of August 2011 because of high rents for residential buildings fell 13.2%.

The report: that subgroup fuel (gasoline, oil and gas), have seen their prices increased during the month of August 2012 at 5.7% compared to the previous month due to higher prices of liquid gas and due to higher prices in the Kurdistan region by 2.8% in the central region by 8.7% in the South rate of 5.5%. The prices of this group has increased an average of 5.2%, compared to prices in the month of August 2011.

The Department of household furnishings and equipment: - recorded price in Iraq has increased during the month by 0.3% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in all of the regions of Kurdistan and the middle rate of 0.2% in the South by 0.4%. The prices of this section increased by 2.1% compared to prices in the month of August 2011.
The Department of Health has increased during the current month rate of 0.4% compared to the previous month, due to higher prices in the central region by 0.3% in the South by 0.5% while prices fell in the Kurdistan region by 0.1%. The prices of this section increased at a rate of 5.7% compared to prices in the month of August 2011.

With regard CTO recorded prices decreased during the month by 0.5% compared to the previous month, due to lower prices in the Christan at 0.1% in the central region by 0.5% in the South by 0.3%. The prices of this section decreased by 3.0% compared to prices in the month of August 2011.
The report said: The communications department recorded price decline of 0.7% during the month compared to the previous month, due to lower prices in the central region by 0.5% in the South by 1.4%, while prices stabilized in the Kurdistan region. This section prices decreased by 3.9% compared to prices in the month of August 2011.

The Department of Recreation and Culture recorded prices stable during the current month compared to the previous month, due to the stability of prices in the central region, while prices rose in the Kurdistan region by 0.1% and decreased in the South by 0.1%. The prices of this section decreased rate of 0.8% compared to prices in the month of August 2011.
On indicators indices of consumer prices at the district level, recorded prices in the Kurdistan region in the month of August 2012 compared to the previous month increased by 2.1% resulting primarily from the increase in prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages at 6.6%, prices of clothing and footwear by 1.2%, housing prices rate of 0.4%, prices of equipment and household equipment and maintenance by 0.2%, prices of recreation and culture by 0.1%, education prices by 0.1%, prices of miscellaneous goods and services by 2.4%.

In the central region recorded prices in the month of August 2012 compared to the previous month increased of 3.3% resulted primarily from higher food prices and non-alcoholic beverages at 8.6%, prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 1.5%, prices of clothing and footwear at 1.4%, housing prices at 0.9% , prices of equipment and household equipment and maintenance by 0.2%, prices of health by 0.3%, prices of restaurants by 0.7%, prices of miscellaneous goods and services at a 0.9% rate.

As in the south recorded prices in the month of August 2012 compared to the previous month increased by 2.8% resulting primarily from higher food prices and non-alcoholic beverages at 8.2%, prices of clothing and footwear 2.9%, housing prices by 0.3%, prices of equipment and household equipment and maintenance rate 0.4%, prices of health by 0.5%, education prices by 1.5%, prices of restaurants by 1.1%. / End / j.
